balance is bullshit
balance is bullshit.
we’re just going to come right out and say it.
nature is inherently meant to exist out of balance.
yet, we find ourselves so beholden to this idea that everything needs to be in this perfect balance or harmony.
and it appears that this concept is driving us and our nervous systems to the point of longterm mobilization (think hypervigilance, anxiety, overwhelm, low self worth, constant urgency).
in our observation of individuals, their families, and their nervous systems in today’s world, there are two pieces to which we’d like to bring attention:
all systems within nature exist in a dynamic state — one that exists on a continuum and is ever shifting, changing, evolving to meet the needs of the present.
nature exists in uniquely decentralized systems, yet, as humans and family units, we have migrated towards completely centralized systems that are placing a load on our capacities that are simply unnatural to the ways by which nature was designed.
so — hang with me here:
what *if* we allowed ourselves to also exist on a spectrum or continuum of what it means to show up for ourselves, others, our communities to the fullest extent, as opposed to expecting the same idea and vision of perfection each and every second of every day?
what *if* we came together in more community for support, for holding, for healing as opposed to remaining siloed as a result of the very systems and structures that got us here?
our nervous systems are asking for a way out and through.
they are demanding less pressure, less urgency, less stress, more play, more ease, more slowing, more trust.
if you needed permission to drop the notion of balance, here it is. loud and clear.
instead, we invite you to soften into the dynamic ways by which you continue to show up in your wholeness. you’re doing a much better job than you’re giving yourself credit for.
